On the way to Florida, in 1992, Meghan stopped in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her visit to this city lasted an unexpected five years, during which time she began her transformation into a transwoman. A popular nightclub, Papa Joe's, was looking for a replacement for a transsexual who had played Madonna, and Meghan applied for the position, imitating Annie Lennox. For the next three years, she portrayed Lennox on stage 17 times each week. Meghan also impersonated Cher and Madonna.

After a brief visit to Hollywood, California, with friend and fellow transsexual Kimberly Devine, Meghan decided that Tinsel Town was the place to be, and she moved into a studio apartment between Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. Here, in 1996, she did a photographic spread for ''Transformation Magazine'', which led to her appearance in the film ''Transsexual Centerfolds'' a year later. This production launched her career as a transsexual porn star, from which she took a leave of absence in 2001, after being featured in 150 adult films, to study philosophy and religion at the Midwestern home she purchased in Indiana.
